Comment about the English Debate...

I think that both teams did a very good job. Even though, the second team had some misunderstandings at the moment to decide which part of the team was going to agree and which one was not with its topic, the second team did an interesting job. Perhaps, the first debate was developed in a more attractive way, due to that its topic had to do with our profession which is “Teaching”. Therefore, I think that the best debate was the first one. The team that won it was the one which was against "professionales teaching as teachers in schools". However, both teams were well prepared. Both teams looked for information to support their thesis.

We, as future teachers, have to take advantage of these instances to express our thoughts and feelings and look for information to support them. Thus, we could grow up in an intellectual but, at the same time, in a spiritual way.

On the other hand, what the members’ teams could have improved upon, it is their anxiety at the moment to be in front of a class and speak aloud. If we get to manage our anxiety we will be able to say everything what we would like to without forgetting any word. I know that, what I mentioned recently, sounds easy but it is not. However, we have to make an effort and try to get it, in order to be a better student now and a good teacher in the future.

  1. Yes, anxiety is always hard to overcome, but practicing and preparing beforehand helps.

  2. Don't worry about the anxiety because it's very normal. As you said, this is our fisrt debate and it was very good. Obviously we have to improve a lot of things, but in our way we are going to find them out.
I think your debate was very well supported, because you mentioned important authors who deal with teaching and promote critical thinking. If we were not critical, we could not think about proffessionals teaching at schools. I have my possition and i am more close to your arguments.
In my opinion you didn't mentioned the role of the school in this topic and to me it is very important because sociaty and people are always bleming teachers, but what is the school's role in this topic?
