I Checked Barbara's Text...

First of all, both debates presented their thesis very clear to S/P *audiences. However, the first group was SM* most dynamic SM* because there was an interaction between people who were SM* disagreement that any professional can be a teacher and people who were in favor of this. These two teams showed a lot of important arguments trying to convince SM* audience which group was right. But, I think that it was lack of information about ( )*some S/P*argument that some people said, this is one of the things that have to be improved. I ( )*really think that the group which won was WW* people who were against professionals can WW*be a teacher in schools. WW*Because of, I am convinced that a teacher has to respect his or her carrier as well as doctors or lawyers do ( )*it.Unfortunately, the second group, which topic was voluntary votes, made a mistake because there WW*do not exist any team which were against this topic. For that reason, S/P*audiences had to participate in order to create a real debate; this situation was very interesting and entertaining because all of us had the opportunity to express our thoughts about it. Nevertheless, there were some people who did not had good manage of the topic, so I think that some of them needed to prepare much better their arguments in order to convince to ( )* audience that their were right finding more information about this topic. In this case, I think that any group won because it did not have enough information to support ideas.

Comment about the English Debate...

I think that both teams did a very good job. Even though, the second team had some misunderstandings at the moment to decide which part of the team was going to agree and which one was not with its topic, the second team did an interesting job. Perhaps, the first debate was developed in a more attractive way, due to that its topic had to do with our profession which is “Teaching”. Therefore, I think that the best debate was the first one. The team that won it was the one which was against "professionales teaching as teachers in schools". However, both teams were well prepared. Both teams looked for information to support their thesis.

We, as future teachers, have to take advantage of these instances to express our thoughts and feelings and look for information to support them. Thus, we could grow up in an intellectual but, at the same time, in a spiritual way.

On the other hand, what the members’ teams could have improved upon, it is their anxiety at the moment to be in front of a class and speak aloud. If we get to manage our anxiety we will be able to say everything what we would like to without forgetting any word. I know that, what I mentioned recently, sounds easy but it is not. However, we have to make an effort and try to get it, in order to be a better student now and a good teacher in the future.

"A Complex but Beautiful Profession"

After reading the articles “The Death and Life of Great American Cities” by Jane Jacobs and “Designs for Working” by Malcolm Gladwell, we realize about certain aspects or ideas that could be or could not be applicable to the different classroom settings.

In the article “The Death and Life of Great American Cities” we could appreciate that the author try to show us that most of the social inequality is the result of bad projects. The same thing happens when we think in the classroom setting. Jane Jacob says “Under the surface, these accomplishments prove even poorer than their poor pretences. They seldom aid the city areas around them, as in theory they are supposed to”. Therefore, a teacher that, for example, prepares a class without thinking in her children’s needs, will not get positive results from it letting children anchored without option.

If we, as future teachers, really want to change the bad quality of education now, we do have to go through our children’s hearts and satisfy their real needs putting in their hands such a useful tool as English language is. Teachers have to teach pupils how to use this magnificent tool to discover what is behind themselves and the world that, most of the time, we think we know.

On the other hand, from the article “Designs for Working” we can think about and get important ideas to improve the interaction among children which is fundamental for them could learn, support and foster from each other. To do this, as future teachers, we have to prepare as pair as group works for our pupils. As examples of pair and group works we can mention dialogs, interviews, plays, etc.

Finally, studying to be a better teacher every day thinking in our children benefits for them to be comprehensive human beings we could get that spiritual change that we have been whished for a long time.

“A Beautiful Gift for a Future Teacher”

This article title “11 Techniques for a Better Classroom Discipline” by Thomas R. McDaniel is highly interesting and helpful for future teachers to keep in mind useful techniques at the moment of teaching.

Students of pedagogy who are used to speaking soft have always worried about how they would face, perhaps, more than 40 children in a classroom. After reading the article most of them feel more relaxed because they have realized they can take advantage, as future teachers, of their soft voice. Making children know the teacher’s way of working and, at the same time, let them know teachers better, these professionals can get the attention and respect that they need from their pupils without speaking louder and without children feel teachers want to compete with them. As a result, children and teachers could enjoy an effective class developed in a comfortable atmosphere.

Finally, at the moment I read the article I can go back on time and remember those school days when, as a child, I could not realize what to be a teacher means. Nowadays, as a student of pedagogy, I can see how exhausting but rewarding the teacher’s profession could be if I love it and apply the right techniques in a class.

“A Beautiful Gift for a Future Teacher”

First of all, I enjoyed reading the article “11 Techniques for a Better Classroom Discipline” which seemed highly interesting to me. This article gives many useful techniques that, as a future teacher, it is important I am aware of them.

Moreover, while I was reading the article I went back on time and I remembered that when I was at school I could not realize what to be a teacher means. Nowadays, I can see how exhausting but rewarding the teacher’s profession could be if you love it and apply the right techniques in a class.

On the other hand, as an English Pedagogy student who is used to speaking soft I have always worried about how I would face, perhaps, more than 40 children in a classroom. Then, after reading the article I feel more relaxed because I have realized I can take advantage of my soft voice. Making children know my way of working and let them know me better I can get the attention and respect that I need from them without I speak louder and without they feel I want to compete with them. As a result, children and I could enjoy an effective class which developed in a comfortable atmosphere.
